OSMOSIS FAQ'S

The acceptable range of Vitamin A is 2,500 – 10,000 IU (international units) per/day and 4,000 – 15,000 IU while pregnant or breastfeeding. Both Elevate and Restore Internal should not be taken during this time, but all other Osmosis skincare products are safe to use. When using Osmosis Active A Serums, depending on the % of Retinaldehyde your specific serum contains, you should not exceed 300 IU per/day. Even if using the strongest serum available, use no more than 2 pumps 2 times per day. Our Facial Infusion is a non-acid peel, therefore, it is safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding, as it does not exceed 1,500 IU of Vitamin A. Of course, we always recommend that you consult with your physician before the use of any active products or supplements.

Purify, Cleanse, Quench, Quench Plus+, Shade, Protect, Apple Mask, Repair Healing Mask, Tropical Mango Mas, Calming Powder Blend, Willow Herb Powder Active, Refresh, Refresh PM, Age Defying Treatment Concealer, Pressed Base, Bronzer, Blush, Eye Pencil, Brow Gel, Eye Shadow Trio, Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Lip Pencil, Mineral Hydration Mist.

The recommendation and use of these products should be done by trained professionals in Oncology Skincare to ensure safe and effective use. Some products may not be recommended for certain types of cancer or during certain stages.

If you travel, you may experience your products leaking or exploding inside your luggage, getting all over your clothes, and other items. This is certainly the last thing you want to deal with after a long day of travel. When pressure changes, air traps in bottles, and as a result, causes containers to explode. Also make sure you remove any shrink wrap and open/close your product prior to travel. Placing any of your beauty products in ziploc bags is also a great back-up – just to be safe.

After any form of professional exfoliation, we recommend stopping use of your Osmosis products containing Vitamin A due to sensitivities. This includes all Active A Serums for at least 5-7 days, or until skin has normalized. You may continue to use all other products while your skin is re-normalizing including cleansers, clear, antioxidant serums and moisturizers/sun protection. Our Repair healing balm is especially helpful to aid in the repair of your skin following those treatments.

We suggest applying Stem Factor onto clean skin, massaging in until it absorbs and following with application of Catalyst. Combine this with an Active A Serum and massage in also until it absorbs completely. In addition, you may also combine Replenish with your Active A Serum or apply it individually. It is truly up to what works best with your skin and your schedule. We encourage you to try cocktailing your products until you find the right fit! If incorporating Restore, we suggest application of Catalyst and StemFactor first.

We acknowledge the benefits that it can bring when used conservatively. In fact, it is gentle enough to not strip the skin or cause inflammation! Therefore, we recommend once every other day or so.

BPA is sometimes found in polycarbonate plastics with the identification code of 3 or 7. Most of our bottles are made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Resin which is plastic code #1 and is BPA and BPS free. A small number of our bottles are made from plastic code #6, also BPA and BPS free. Click here to learn more about PET resin bottles.

Of course! They are recyclable under category 7.

Most of our products are vegan and gluten-free. Please check individual products for specific ingredient information.

We do NOT test on animals or endorse such practices. In fact, our wellness supplements and skincare line with the exception of Catalyst AC-11 and Elevate are Leaping Bunny certified.

We have organic masks and a few organic ingredients elsewhere. In fact, we are 99% natural in the broad sense that ingredients like L-ascorbic acid are considered “natural” because they are bio-identical even though everyone uses L-ascorbic acid made in a lab, not harvested from a fruit. We use a PEG in couple of products that does not cause harm to the skin or body, and there are a couple of ingredients that people object to like dimethicone. Above all, we can definitively tell you is that we are non-toxic because that is the message we emphasize the most. In other words, when we use an artificial ingredient, it is only being considered if it adds a significant benefit to the performance of the product AND it is not creating any harm whatsoever.

Osmosis skincare products are made using a variety of natural, organic and botanical ingredients. Variations in color, fragrance and consistency are simply due to a result of natural variations in the materials which make our products and in no way impacts their efficacy.

We do not have any concerns regarding nano technology if it is something good for the body. To our knowledge, all of our ingredients are slightly to significantly larger than nano technology.

Orange Zest, Cucumber Mint and Tropical Mango masks have a shelf life of 2 years. Rescue, Organic Apple and Berry masks both have a shelf life of 12 months. All other skincare products have a shelf life of 18 months.

Osmosis Skincare maintains sustainability by using recyclable packaging and materials, using natural or eco certified preservatives in our products, as well as our bottles are BPA and BPS free. We are also compliant with California prop 65 as well as the California Air Resource Board with all of our ingredients in each of our lines (skincare, makeup and internal wellness). Above all, Osmosis continues sustainability support by respecting animal life and does not test or harm animals.

INGREDIENT QUESTIONS

These ingredients often cause some confusion. Pentylene Glycol, found in our new Vitamin A treatment serums, comes from coconut though ours is bio-identically made. It is both non-toxic and not harmful. Zemea (Propanediol), found in Catalyst, comes from corn and has the ECOCERT seal. It is also non-toxic and not harmful. Our bio-identical form of Butylene Glycol used in Deep Clean and Refresh, is in fact, the same form found in cocoa butter and the roots of the Common Rue plant. Both Pentylene Glycol and Propanediol are humectants. As a result, these substances helps the skin retain its moisture.

We find that Harmonized water is a great 1st line of defense preservative, but once that water comes in contact with microbes, the energy or frequencies in the water molecules are unable to fight off any further exposure. Because of this, the other two preservatives that you will find in Osmosis products include Dehydroacetic Acid and Honeysuckle extract. Honeysuckle is an all-natural preservative that comes from the flower bud. Dehydroacetic Acid has been through rigorous testing and has approval for use by both the European Union and Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare (one of the strictest review boards). Most importantly, Dehydroacetic Acid is 85% Organic, Eco Certified, and makes its use as a food preservative. Finally, since we are using these as a second line of defense, we only need to use a small amount and it is present at less than 1% in Osmosis Products.

We have added a few key ingredients to our products like Synthe-6 (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38) to help maintain our mission of providing the most corrective ingredients possible. We are now providing both the common name and scientific name so that you have both names. This is the main reason the ingredient decks look much longer. You can reference these in your pursuit of knowledge.

There are usually 2 types of PC used in skincare. Pure, native PC (PC) and Hydrogenated PC (PC-H). Both are for very different things. PC – for it’s liposomal, transdermal delivery properties. When you hydrogenate PC, you remove that property. PC-H – for it’s highly emollient, moisturizing properties. We use PC-H in Quench and Refresh. But all the “delivery system” products (Correct, Renew, Calm, Clarify, Replenish, StemFactor and FI), all have PURE PC to ensure adequate delivery. Our supplier also indicates that they remove most, if not all, of the allergenic soy proteins from PC, so it does not usually affect people who have soy allergies, by topical PC.

We use Extract of Sweet Wormwood. We do NOT use pure Wormwood. Yes, it does indeed have amazing properties to it, and is now the #1 GLOBAL anti-malarial ingredient. It is HIGHLY effective in that application, and other short term clinical applications, as it shows no resistance. However, used long term it can become toxic to the body.

In the initial research in the early 80’s by the physician who created Restore, they were looking at the Wormwood molecule in more depth. What was shown was that there was a specific component of the molecule known as an endoperoxide bridge, that provides all the benefits to the body that we want. Therefore, It has a deep therapeutic immuno-modulating effect, but without the toxic side effects of pure Wormwood. The process of extracting this section of the molecule is called Ozonolysis (literally exposing Wormwood to Ozone, hence the smell/taste), in effect it produces a semi-synthetic ozonide. It is THAT extract, which we use in Restore. This is the molecule that has all the research behind it. So take comfort that we are NOT using plain old Wormwood.

Benzyl alcohol is used in small amounts as part of a preservative that meets Ecocert standards and is NaTrue certified. In fact, this ingredient is often used to dissolve other ingredients to get them into formulation and evaporates during that process. Due to the source, method and because of the amounts used, we are not concerned that this ingredient poses any harm.

Glucose is the source of our Hyaluronic Acid and is, in fact, gluten free, vegan and not tested on animals.

Sodium Hydroxide is a ph adjuster that improves consistency.

Yes, we use sustainable palm oil in our skincare products.
